What is a Session Abandonment Flow?

A Session Abandonment Flow automatically sends messages to visitors who spent time on your store but didn't add anything to their cart or make a purchase.

It's a gentle reminder to bring them back and encourage them to explore your products again.

How Does It Help?

This flow helps you:

  • Re-engage visitors who showed interest in your store

  • Capture potential customers before they forget about you

  • Turn casual browsers into active shoppers

  • Recover traffic that might be lost forever

How to Create a Session Abandonment Flow

There are two ways to get started:

1. From the Flow Home Screen

  • Scroll down to find the Session Abandonment Flow Template

  • Click Create

2. From the Create Menu

  • Click + Create Flow

  • Select Use a Flow Template

  • Choose Session Abandonment Flow

  • Click Create Flow

Flow Properties

Using the flow properties shown in the image below is best for a Session Abandonment Flow:

Customize Your Flow (Optional)

Once you create the flow, you'll see the Flow Builder screen.

To make changes:

  • Click Edit Flow at the top

  • Customize the messages, timing, or settings as needed

  • Note: Editing a flow creates a new version of it. Go to "See Version History" from the three dots on top to activate the correct version.

  • Learn more about versioning here

To use it as-is:

  • Simply Turn On your flow, or

  • Schedule it to start later

Important Note:

Make sure the Compliance setting for this flow is set to "Promotional" to avoid carrier filtering and potential legal issues.
