How to Enable/Disable a Flow

You can turn flows on or off in two places:

1. From the Flows Home Screen

Step 1: Go to the Flows section in your TxtCart dashboard.

Step 2: Find the flow you want to enable or disable in the flows list.

Step 3: Click the toggle switch in the Status column next to the flow name:

  • Blue (On) – Flow is active and sending messages

  • Gray (Off) – Flow is inactive and paused

2. From the Flow Summary Screen

Step 1: Click on a Flow name to open the Flow Home Screen.

Step 2: Use the toggle switch at the top of the screen to enable or disable the flow.

The change takes effect immediately.

How to Edit a Flow

1. From the Flows Home Screen

Step 1: Go to the Flows section in your TxtCart dashboard.

Step 2: Click the three-dot menu (•••) next to the flow you want to edit.

Step 3: Select "Edit" from the dropdown menu.

2. From the Flow Summary Screen

Step 1: Go to the Flows section in your TxtCart dashboard (Flows Home Screen).

Step 2: Click on a flow name to open the Flow Summary Screen.

Step 3: Click the blue "Edit" button in the top-right corner.

Both methods will open the flow builder where you can make changes.

What You Can Edit

Triggers – Change what customer action initiates the flow, the trigger options, and or remove trigger filters.
Messages – Change the text, add emojis, short links, discounts, update links, or personalize content.

Actions – Add or remove steps like A/B tests, waits, or decision branches.

Important: Active Flows cannot be edited. When you edit an active flow, a new version of the flow will be automatically created.

This new version must be activated for the changes to take effect.

How to Activate the New Version

Step 1: Make your edits in the flow builder.

Step 2: Click "Save".

Step 3: Click the three-dot menu (•••) in the top-right corner, select "See Version History", and Activate the correct version.
Step 4: Choose how to handle subscribers already in the flow:

  • Let subscribers currently en route complete the previous flow – They finish the old version

  • End previous flow for all, including those currently en route – Everyone moves to the new version

Until you activate the new version, the old version will continue running.

How Versioning Works?

Versioning automatically tracks every time you make changes to a flow.

How to Clone a Flow

Cloning creates an exact copy of an existing flow so you can test changes without affecting the original.

Step 1: Go to the Flows home screen

Step 2: Find the flow you want to clone in the flows list.

Step 3: Click the three-dot menu (•••) in the Actions column.

Step 4: Select "Clone" from the dropdown menu.

Step 5: A duplicate flow will be created with the same name plus "Copy" or a number (e.g., "Welcome Series Copy").

The cloned flow will be a Draft by default. You can edit it and turn it on whenever you're ready to make it live.

Best Practices:

  • Clone before major changes – Make a copy if you want to keep the original flow intact.

  • Activate new versions – Remember to turn on edited flows for changes to take effect.

  • Review version history – Check past performance before making new changes.

  • Test with clones – Perfect your changes on an inactive clone before activating.
