CAN-SPAM or Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography And Marketing Act of 2003
This act established the US's first national standard for sending commercial messages. The CAN-SPAM Act is the leading act prohibiting spamming from commercial entities. It also makes it illegal for businesses to send unwanted text messages to cell phone numbers and requires that these commercial messages be easily identifiable by the receiver as an advertisement.
Consumers must also be able to unsubscribe from receiving these messages. For this reason, we always keep track of those customers who respond "STOP", "NO", "Unsubscribe" etc and remove them from your list. These are placed onto a DNC.
