What is Wait?
Wait is a rule that creates a time delay in your flow. It tells your flow to wait at a certain step before moving on to the next action.
Why Use the Wait Rule?
The Wait Rule helps you time your messages. For example, you could use the Wait Rule to tell your flow to:
Wait 1 day after a welcome message before sending a discount
Wait 2 hours after someone abandons their cart before following up
Wait 3 days between educational messages to avoid overwhelming subscribers
This makes your flows feel natural and not too pushy.
How to Add Wait in Flow Builder
Method 1: Drag and Drop
Find Wait under the Rules section in the Actions menu
Drag it into your flow where you want the pause
Click on the Wait rule to configure it
Method 2: Use the + Sign
Click the + (plus sign) between flow steps
Go to Rules in the Actions menu
Select Wait
The Wait rule will appear in your flow
Set Your Wait Time:
Enter a number (whole numbers only, like 1, 2, 5, 10)
Choose the time period from the dropdown:
Minutes
Hours
Days
Weeks
Click Save
Using Multiple Waits
You can add as many Wait rules as you need throughout your flow. Place them before any step where you want to create a pause.
Example Flow:
Send welcome message → Wait 5 minutes → Send tip → Wait 3 days → Send offer
Pro Tip: Think about your customer's journey when setting wait times. Give them enough time to take action, but not so long that they forget about you!
