What Are Tags?
Tags are simple labels you can attach to your subscribers to organize them into groups. Think of tags like sticky notes you put on folders to remember what's inside.
For example, you might create tags like:
"Cart Recovery" for customers who abandoned their carts
"VIP Customer" for your best shoppers
"Holiday Shopper" for seasonal buyers
Tags help you know who your subscribers are and what they're interested in, making it easy to send them the right messages at the right time.
How You Can Use Tags
Tags let you create specific groups of subscribers so you can send highly targeted messages. Here's how they help:
Organize Your Contacts – Sort subscribers based on their interests, shopping behavior, or any criteria that matter to your business.
Personalize Your Flows – Use tags in your automated flows to send different messages to different groups. For example, subscribers tagged as "VIP Customer" can receive exclusive early access offers.
Track Subscriber Activity – Use tags to mark important customer actions, e.g., "Abandoned Cart" or "Purchased Before."
Build Better Relationships – When you know more about your subscribers through tags, you can send more relevant, personalized messages that they'll actually appreciate.
How to Create Tags
Creating a new tag in TxtCart is quick and simple:
Go to Tags in the Audience section of your sidebar
Click the + Create Tag button in the top-right corner
Give your tag a descriptive name (like "Cart Recovery" or "VIP")
Click Create Tag
That's it! Your new tag is now ready to use with your subscribers.
How to Add Tags to Flows
You can use tags within your automated flows to personalize the subscriber experience:
Open Flow Builder – Edit an existing flow or create a new one
Add the Tag Action – You have two options:
Drag the "Add Tag" option from the Flow Action Menu, or
Click the + sign to add a tag action
Choose Your Tag – Select from your existing list of tags
Save – Click save to apply the tag to your flow
Now your flow will automatically tag subscribers when they reach that step, helping you track their journey and send more personalized messages.
How to Edit or Delete Tags
Managing your existing tags is just as easy:
Find the tag you want to edit in your tags list
Click the three dots (...) in the Actions column
Choose what you want to do:
Edit – Change the tag name or settings
Search Contacts – See all subscribers with this tag
Delete – Remove the tag completely (shown in red)
Pro Tip: Before deleting a tag, use "Search Contacts" to see how many subscribers will be affected.
