At TxtCart, we take a product-led approach to compliance, meaning we build compliance features directly into our platform. This helps ensure you, as a TxtCart customer, can adhere to relevant federal and state-level regulations, maintain a clean subscriber list, and deliver the best experience for your SMS subscribers.

TxtCart is a close partner with Twilio, the Customer Engagement Platform trusted by millions of developers. Our partnership with Twilio has allowed us to maintain subscriber data hygiene for all brands using TxtCart by automatically removing invalid numbers from your subscriber lists.

Twilio's industry-leading infrastructure and data capabilities enable TxtCart to proactively manage subscriber data quality and compliance on your behalf. Through this partnership, TxtCart can detect and remove the following types of numbers from your SMS program:

1. Subscriber Opt-Out Using Keywords

TxtCart automatically unsubscribes any subscribers who text opt-out keywords like "CANCEL", "STOP", "END", "UNSUBSCRIBE", "OPT OUT", "REVOKE", or "QUIT" to your short code or toll-free number. We also recognize variations of this opt-out language, such as:

  • Cancel

  • Do not/don't text

  • No more

  • End

  • Stop all

  • Remove me from your list

  • Stop texting

  • Take me off this list

  • Wrong number

  • Unsubscribe

  • No More

2. Deactivated Phone Numbers

When an individual terminates their cellular plan, gets a new phone number, or switches carriers, the consent they previously gave on their original number no longer applies.

To prevent the risk of messaging new owners who did not opt-in, TxtCart automatically removes deactivated numbers from your subscriber list on a daily basis. This helps protect your brand from potential spam complaints or legal issues.

3. Text Delivery Failure

There are times when a text message will fail to deliver for a reason the carriers consider permanently undeliverable. Examples include:

  • The phone number is invalid

  • The device is incapable of receiving SMS messages (e.g. a landline)

If TxtCart receives notification of a permanent text delivery failure, we will automatically remove consent for that phone number.

By proactively managing opt-outs and subscriber data hygiene, TxtCart helps ensure you maintain compliance, keep your lists clean, and provide the best experience for your SMS subscribers.
